Tasting & Pairing Dinner for the Parents
We prepared a seven course meal for all of our parents and selected wine pairings for each course. Everyone had a great time - they were stuffed with food and wine.

Coach Petey
We had another foster dog . . . a Pointer named Petey. We have since found a home for him but we both got attached to this one . . . he was sweet.

The Ponderosa
Delayed again, but in mid August the Petersons and the Vaughans finally closed on the Ponderosa, aka the War Eagle Plantation. To celebrate, we decided to grill out by the pond. After a few margaritas, fish tacos, beans and plantains we decided we might just stay out there. But then Super T saw an armadillo and Fat Daddy's sounded like a better idea.

Little Liza

A few weeks ago I fostered another pup-a sheltie named Liza. She was quite a little lady. She has since been adopted-she is a great dog.I've got to post more regularly-this blog is gettting stale.

Old Rag Mountain-Sperryville, VA
Last month we went to VA & DC-one very hot and humid day we hiked up Old Rag Mtn, elevation 3230 ft. This hike is something that was sort of an annual tradition for Summer growing up.

Roxanne
Last night Roxanne came to visit-we will be fostering her until next Friday. After that, she will be up for adoption. If you are looking for a very well mannered, sweet, easy going adult dog, she's the one. She must have been someone's pet at one time because she can sit, stay, walks well on a leash, and loves to be inside the house.

Zoo to Do
Friday night in New Orleans the Audubon Zoo puts on a big event called "Zoo to Do." Hundreds of local restaurants had stations set up and served heavy hors d'oeuvres. The food was so delicious - and there were a few bands playing and whatever drinks you could fathom. Good times. Long night.
Now the guys lucked out and were able to wear the tennis shoes with their tuxes . . .
. . . even the ketchup and mustard shoes. Wow.
New Orleans Jazzfest 2006
This past weekend we went to NOLA to visit Deirdre and for Jazzfest. Friday was Little Feat and Keith Urban (we missed Keith). Saturday was Robert Randolph & the Family Band and Jimmy Buffet. Buffet opened with Willie's "Good Morning America." We had to leave Sunday, but the lineup was awesome-Yonder Mtn String Band, Paul Simon & Fats Domino.
