happy two months, big O!

- owen is finally getting back to "himself" the last three weeks he's been pretty darn fussy and not sleeping well. this week he has been happy, smiling a LOT, and sleeping much better.
- he likes to lay down on a blanket and stretch out. he also likes to be held upright on your shoulder and enjoys naps on his tummy. awake tummy time is 50/50 on whether he enjoys it or not. he loves to be held and talked to. he loves his car seat or anything snuggly and secure. he loves riding in the car. I think he's cried one time riding in the car. he loves to eat. he likes a pacifier, but really only when he gets sleepy. he likes baths. he likes the stroller. he likes most anything except if you have to wipe his face or eyes. his left eye, since birth, has always been continually a "crusty" eye ... so we have to clean it a lot. he does not really care for this. he likes the sling. we've only had in in the baby bjorn once, so I'm not sure if he likes it or not.
- working on getting his schedule squared away is a little more challenging this go round that it was with henry, because his schedule is affected by henry's ... pretty much right now his days begins at 6:15-6:30am for his first feeding. He's then done eating and can hang out by 7am when his brother awakes and mommy needs to tend to him. he is usually awake until 8-8:30ish and then naps until 10ish for his next feeding. same wake time, although sometimes shorter, naps again until next feeding at 2ish. wake time is longer it seems after this feeding, next feeding at 5:30ish. we try to keep him awake after this feeding until 8:30ish, which is his last feeding of the day. he goes to bed around 9:15ish and this week has been sleeping well until about 4:30ish ... he'll wake up and want his pacifier and usually get back to sleep until his first feeding. we'll see what the next week holds ... it seems like day by day around here so who knows!
- he seems longer than henry was at two months. he is wearing 3-6 month clothes and growing quickly. he has nearly outgrown his moses basket, which is sad to me. he had his first bottle at 3 weeks and is doing fine with bottles and nursing, so that is a blessing!
- he has not lost any hair. his eyes are still baby gray. his is getting chubby cheeks and thighs. he has skinny little arms and calves!
- he still spits up a good bit, but the projectile part is much improved (yea!).
- he is very strong - especially his legs.
- it has been so sweet to re-live these newborn times, even on the not so great and even worse days. we have really loved seeing what unfolds each day and are trying to take it all in because time is passing WAY too quickly. it seems like just yesterday my water broke and we were heading for the hospital. heck, it seems like yesterday we were doing all of this with little henry. anyway, I read a phenomenal quote today, "In the life of a mother, the days are long but the years are short." so much truth in those words!
