a great big yawn . . .

thanks Mrs. Claudia for the cute shirt from white flowers!

Gary and I had our first "date night" since Henry's birth. Gary's Dad (Papa) kept Henry while we went to dinner to celebrate Gary's birthday and later met up with some friends. It was a nice evening but weird to be away from Mr. H.
Gary caught a picture of Mother and Baby snoozing. Apparently, we both like to sleep with our mouths wide open.

asleep and awake

Went for a walk outside today . . . weather was so nice! I never had a big sweet tooth or any cravings during pregnancy. Now that it's over, my old sweet tooth is back! So, my new rule is that if I am to have some type of sweet treat, I have to walk there to get it. Fortunately, we live pretty close to TCBY and Brusters, ha ha.
Henry was dressed in some "older" looking clothes today; honestly, I'm not quite sure how much I liked it.
I do love these golf socks that Jessica sent us-thanks, Jess! All he needs now are some new balance tennis shoes, croakies, a black lab and some long hair and he would be all set to enter the Auburn fraternity scene (not that we are encouraging or discouraging this).

surprise!

I am still in shock. Last Friday our friend Peyton was supposed to come over for lunch. When there was a knock on the door I naturally thought it was Peyton. However, to my utter shock and surprise, it was SUE! She had a bow on top of her head and was trying to video my reaction. She flew down for my birthday and to meet little Henry.
What a wonderful, wonderful surprise!
Auntie Sue made a looonnngggg trip to see our little bundle

Mom, Dad and my brother, Brock, also came down to visit on my birthday (but we knew they were coming, no surprise-ha!). Uncle Brock was finally able to meet HDV-he looks like a natural holding Henry eh? I must say this may have been the best birthday yet!

a must watch

this video is a must watch - and shorter than the one posted earlier. make sure speakers are turned on while viewing. it may look like there is no video; there is, just click on the play button once or twice for it to start.

Thanks Amy, for these great AU booties!

henry awake? yes, it happens!

tiny hands

Today was Henry's one month check up. No shots today, just a heel stick and exam. Henry is now up to 8 pounds 15 ounces and has grown to 21 7/8 inches long. The doc said he is doing great!
Since lunch today, Henry has been very crabby, which is unlike him. He has also been awake most of the day . . . except for a few brief moments when he fell asleep in his glider. Sometimes you just gotta fall asleep with your arms up . . . too funny!

Happy One Month Birthday, Henry

On Sunday Henry turned four weeks old! Is that really possible? Seems like it has flown by . . . and I hear time only passes more quickly as they grow older. Yikes!
I finally found the words to the Monday's Child poem-we've been wondering what it said about Sunday's child, so here it is:
Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.
It was a great Sunday-we had some special visitors. My maternal grandmother came to visit along with my cousin Whitney, and my Aunt Kaye and Uncle Dan.
We are so thankful that Henry met his great grandmother! For those of you that don't know, my Granny is one active and wonderful lady. She works part time, is a very competitive bowler (bowling in leagues and such), plays bridge each week, she is an accomplished seamstress, and is very active in her church.
Great Aunt Kaye . . . Henry is yawning in this picture, not screaming.
Snuggle time with Dad.
