Just now getting the pictures from Deirdre (I didn't have my camera) - from the weekend of Jan. 20th she came to visit and we celebrated her birthday.

This past weekend we went to Macon to visit Melinda, Brian, Max, Lunchbox, Helen and Chompers. We went to the Douglass Theatre to see the Lovell Sisters, a bluegrass trio from North Georgia. They were incredible! Good times.

The Lipizzaner Stallions
Gary and I went to see the Lipizanners in Columbus, GA a couple of weekends ago. For those of you unfamiliar with this breed, they perform dressage steps in unison. It is similar to a ballet where the stallions are the ballerinas. Currently used for show, this great breed was formerly used in battle in Europe for many years. General Patton saved the breed, very close to extinction, towards the end of World War II. Today the Lipizzaners are found at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria and also on select farms in Florida. It was truly amazing to watch these gorgeous animals perform.

Peggy Sue's 30th Birthday
On Jan. 5th, our dear Peg turned 30. Dinner at Moore's Mill Club and champagne toasts afterwards . . . cheers!

Auld Lang Syne
What does this song mean anyway . . . should old aquaintence be forgot? does that mean we are supposed to forget that we remembered them? or are we supposed to remember that we have forgotten them? how can we remember if we've already forgotten? I've never understood . . .

Hit the Road Jack
I was going back through our folder of dog pictures, found these and burst into laughter. These pictures were taken two years ago when we went to see Kevin and Sue for the Ohio State vs. Michigan State game. We thought we would bring along the dogs for a visit. Shelby looks particularly amusing.

Sunday Afternoon out at the Ponderosa
I took the herd out to swim and frolic Sunday afternoon - found out that Bricks likes the water too. Shocker.

Hello Bricks!
Say hello to our new (and permanent) family member . . . Bricks. He's a 1.5 year old male Golden rescue who is a big teddy bear. He is so gentle and kind. He's also a big boy weighing in at about 80 pounds..

Low Tide Low
After Demop, we traveled to Tuscaloser for the football game. Weather was perfect, great tailgate thanks to my Aunt Kaye, and got to see Dick Pritchett and Shawn Allen, Esq. Auburn winning 22-15 was the icing on the cake.
The Red Barn
Richard came in town for the Auburn/Bama game weekend, so we carried on a tradition from two years ago of going to the Red Barn in Demopolis for drinks. We had the best bartender last time, Mauree Ann. We all took bets on if she still works there . . . sure enough she does!
UGA-ly Tailgate
Delayed once again . . . these are from the UGA game Nov. 11th. Game was a debacle, tailgate was a success.

Goose!
We have been fostering Goose the Collie for about 2 weeks. He is jsut a big, goofy boy with a sweet and gentle personality. He and Savannah are buds. Tricia calls him a Sheltie on stilts.

Old Blog, Old Crow
Way back when I used to post on this blog, we went to see Old Crow Medicine Show at the Alabama Theatre on a Thursday night. Allison & Joel went also and it was an awesome show. Great venue. Great music.
