henry had a blast dancing with all the cousins. after they left he figured he was stuck dancing with his mama.
my uncle is in the british car club (he's the one who has the triumph henry loves). this is the car he found for calley and brian to ride away in - how unique! henry kept saying, "I like calley's mercedes. its nice!"

good times! congrats calley and brian!

visitors!

melinda and will came to visit over the weekend. I've said it before and I'll say it again ... my friend melinda is one phenomenal lady. she trekked all the way from washington state with an 22 month old, by herself (her hubby has been deployed overseas defending our country for the last year). she is one of those people that always has a smile on her face and a kind word to share. she and I met when I lived in savannah post college ... and although we don't get to see each other often, it always seems like we just pick up where we left off months before ...
we had a really nice visit and the boys had fun playing together!

below is our babysitter katy mac. She started back in January before I had owen and has been "back" since I returned to work in may. I've said it before, but we have been incredibly blessed with excellent sitters to care for our children. she is fabulous! and loves our boys.
mama and big O snuggling before bed time

shiny chin ... drool. drool. drool. owen is really talented at drooling!
this is a random pic of H, but for some reason I just liked it. I know every parent thinks their child(ren) are gorgeous, but isn't he though?!

waleigh

weekend before last we flew to raleigh (waleigh, as henry says) for gary's dad's Air America reunion. Gary's sister, brother in law, and our new cousin all met us there too. It was a great reunion of all sorts, Air America and Vaughan Family.
This marked Owen's first time to fly and Henry's fourth time to fly. We had a little over an hour delay (buckled in our seats, on the plane, with little to no air conditioning) both ways, but both boys did really well. Since we each held a child in our laps, we were not able to sit together (all four of us) due to the planes not having enough oxygen masks for two infants on laps. So that stunk ... I didn't get to hear Henry's reaction to flying, which he was really excited about. Maybe next time. The trip itself was fast and furious, but we all enjoyed ourselves. Our new niece was absolutely adorable. We were sad to leave - certainly wished we all lived closer.

henry and owen playing on the bed in our hotel room

on the way to dinner - henry zonked. this is a rare occurrence for henry. he's a good sleeper, but normally enjoys riding in the car so much he hardly sleeps when riding. he was really tired, and this was just the first day of the trip!
owen, awake in the car while henry was sleeping. he was a trooper and was good old owen the whole trip, easy going and sweet.
dinner at a little Irish pub. owen is taking it all in as you can see ...
little O in the pack and play
the cousins meet! they are one month apart.

more cousins in car seats ... the place to be!
the vaughans ... deirdre, phil and G
the two legged cousins. we missed all the four legged cousins. that will be a fun photo one day!
the whole group
before the banquet saturday night. deirdre and I had matching outfits for the three kiddos. sadly, we did not get their picture in them! here they are (2 out of the 3 anyway); elizabeth and owen had the same cute little bubble.
henri and his sweet auntie D
more car seat action at the banquet
before we headed home ... papa and his grandchildren.

fun times. traveling with two was an adventure!
it was different, as each day is, going from toting around one to two little ones.
the boys were/are pretty easy on us, for that we were/are thankful. here's to waleigh!

still counting ...

2 DAYS UNTIL WE MEET COUSIN ELIZABETH!

01 June 2010

i told you we were counting ...

... counting the days until we meet cousin e!
here is what owen thinks about the count down so far ...
as you can see he is pretty darn excited.
and he got so excited he couldn't sit up anymore ... and proceeded to start to fall over and eat the countdown sign.
and now, he sleeps (no photo though).
dreaming sweet dreams of his new cousin, auntie, and uncle.
3 more days!
