healthy bricks and happy goose

canine update: bricks was re-tested for heartworms and the test came back negative! so he is well again . . . well other than his icthyosis (sp? help me here joe and D.), which is a genetic skin disease common in goldens, and his funky ears. he is up to a whopping 87 pounds - he should ideally be around 80 pounds but his daily fish oil doses (for his skin condition) add some extra calories. anyway, he is doing very well and still sweet as ever.
good news about goose the collie . . . he was placed in a loving (we hope) home last week. a young couple here in Auburn, very nice, super excited about him, and he will be the only dog. so, let's hope and pray it works out much better than the last family. otherwise, we will have to make room here at the Vaughan Kennel. I really and truly am sad we couldn't take him in; when he came back to the shelter I took it as a sign he was meant for us. but, we just are out of room at our current house for any more dogs. one day my friend . . . when we are out on the land . . . our vet bills will be even higher. :)
